How MyFretwork handles music and other work that belongs to someone else.
Members share tabs, chord charts, recordings, posts and comments on MyFretwork. Only share what you made yourself or have the right to share. If you think something here uses your work without permission, tell us and we will deal with it quickly.
The fastest way is the Report button on the piece, recording or post. For a formal notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, send our designated agent (below) a written notice that includes:
Registered with the U.S. Copyright Office, registration DMCA-1083306.
When we receive a complete notice we remove or disable the material promptly and let the member who posted it know.
You can send the designated agent a counter notice with: the material that was removed and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the U.S., any district where MyFretwork may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the original notice; and your signature. Unless that person tells us they have filed a court action, we restore the material in 10 to 14 business days.
We close the accounts of members who repeatedly share work they don't have the right to share.
