Press Play — you’re told the scale, and the shape appears with notes taken out of
it. Tap the missing notes back in; the faint circles on that string are the candidates.
Listen — the whole scale plays, missing notes included, so your ear tells you what
belongs in the gap you can see. Some questions ask for a degree instead —
“tap every ♭3” — with the whole shape shown; there you hear the run and then the interval
you’re hunting, the tonic against the degree asked for. Press ♪ Hear the scale any time to
play it again. 3 lives, and a wrong tap ends the question.
Master a scale (8 correct at 75%) and a new root is introduced; master enough of a stage and the next
one opens. After you answer, the shape turns green with its degrees — the numbers are what carry
to the next key.
This is Scale Maze the other way round: that one shows you a shape and asks what it is, this one
names it and asks you to place it. Progress is tracked separately, because recognising a shape and being
able to build it are different skills.

A chip is one scale — a root + scale type in one shape.
